I tried both installing from the repository using Synaptic and using the terminal but both operations failed. So why am I stating this on a Mint forum? Well I thought I would try setting up the onedrive app on the Mint system directly on the desktop and the same thing happened. After entering my OneDrive mail address and password the window below the top bars went blank and remained so. I tried to install the onedrive app but it failed at the last stage (verification for OneDrive to communicate with the Linux system). However, from previews I have seen, I don't think I want to upgrade that system so I have replaced it with MX-Linux. Xubuntu is due to be updated to 22.02.1 shortly although I think there have been delays due to bugs etc. It sometimes produced list of errors which did not make sense to me particularly as it achieved what I asked it to do.

I set up the open source onedrive app on Xbuntu and it worked quite well - it was fairly simple to use via terminal commands. I have a Linux 20.3 desktop system to which I had a Xubuntu 20.02 system usb hdd attached, in effect giving me a dual boot arrangement.
